A Letter from Sophie Yungblut

My name is Sophie Yungblut and I am a senior at Turpin High School. I am excited and honored to have accepted the nomination to be a candidate for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student of the Year fundraising campaign. The goal of this campaign is to fundraiser the most “votes” ($1 donation=1 vote) during a 7 week campaign period (January 5-February 24, 2017) against other Cincinnati high school students.

Though this is the first year that the local chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has participated in the Student of the Year, my family has been involved with LLS since 2007 when my youngest sister, Lucy, was diagnosed with ALL (a form of leukemia). After 2 ½ years, Lucy finished her treatment in early 2010 and is considered cancer free. I want to be a part of the solution to end blood cancers.

There are several ways you can help. I have several fundraisers throughout the 7 week campaign. I would love to have the support of Anderson Township. You can follow along on my facebook page, Sophie Yungblut LLS Student of the Year 2017 . I will be posting information here as it becomes available. I am also seeking donations, gift cards and items along with monetary donations. There are also opportunities for corporate sponsorships. To directly donate, the link will become live on January 5, 2017.
